Hi folks.
Last year, we hinted at the return of the Kalahari, one of the most sought-after and interesting watches we’ve made. I wanted to give an update on that project.
To catch those of you up that have never heard of the Kalahari, this was a desert military tool watch we launched on Kickstarter in 2018. It was inspired by the sands of the Kalahari Desert, a place that’s beautiful, desolate, and very close to the heart of many Southern Africans.
KALAHARI
First off, it is definitely happening!
We’ve taken a bit longer to nail down the engineering, as there are a few major changes from a technical perspective. From a visual perspective, it will look very close to the original. We’ll offer it in the same four colourways as the original Kalahari, essentially two dial variants(full-lume sand and black) and two case finishes (bead-blasted steel and DLC-coated).
The case will be thinner (14.45mm vs 15.10mm) and smaller (43mm vs 44mm). Thats as small as we could get it while still keeping the same functionality and features as the original. We’ve added drilled lugs to make strap changes easier.

I’m already a buyer for one, a silver watch with a black dial! Set one aside for me, you promised…. I hope the strap will be 22 mm, so I can put the Benguela metal buckle on it. It would be nice if the back had a light, like the old model, it was unique too. What kind of mechanism do you imagine?

Yes. Finally. This was the model that got me into Draken however I was too late to the party in being able to grab my own. Looking forward to the slimmer profile and whatever new specifications they decide to include. Such a cool looking piece. Hurry up and release it!!!!

I think it’s great you’re bringing back this particular model. My only recommendation would be to avoid having the power reserve indicator remove from the hour and minute track like the Peregrine did.
I am new to Draken and just got your Aoraki Recce model. I am hooked on your brand. Reading the news about the Kalahari got me really excited. What a beauty and I wished I jumped on the bandwagon in 2018. Looking forward to the 2026 edition.

Yes please. I want one. Bought a Kruger last year and still enjoy it. Being a South African living in NZ its a piece of home away from home made proudly in NZ by a South African. How amazing!! Hand written note from Mike was also a special touch.
